RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS

Discovery Group

Bringing together a team of 18 investigators with
backgrounds in bacteriology, molecular biology,
virology, and immunology, CCfV’s Discovery Group
focuses on the development of novel vaccines.
Major research activities for the 2015-16 year were
predominantly ongoing, moving forward the progress
in vaccine development and related research for
dengue fever, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza,
pertussis and Chlamydia.

In addition, work began on several new studies including one looking
at diagnostic platforms for Lyme disease, another focusing on the
clinical development of cancer immunotherapeutics (in partnership
with Immunovaccine), and an exciting project looking at host genetic
susceptibility to infectious disease.

Future priorities of the group include maintaining and enhancing
research funding and collaborations and increasing awareness of
emerging research opportunities.
